About Our Doctors
Dr. Andrew G. Chong
Dr. Andrew G. Chong is a therapeutic optometrist with glaucoma certification and is trained in the treatment and management of eye diseases, specialty contact lenses, corneal refractive therapy and the pre- and post-operative care of patients.
Dr. Chong was born and raised in Boyle Heights. Dr. Chong earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Cal State University Los Angeles, an MBA from University of Southern California, and a Doctor of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry. He served his internship at Greater Los Angeles VA Health Care System and Long Beach Naval Shipyard. While Dr. Chong is a general optometrist who manages eye disorders, his special interests are in custom contact lenses for patients with corneal conditions—keratoconus and dry eye. This includes custom soft lenses and special contact lenses for Keratoconus.
He is a member of both the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Association. He is also a member of the AOA Contact Lens and Cornea Section.
Dr. Brian Alcalde
Dr. Brian Alcalde O.D. is a highly skilled and experienced optometrist with over 17 years of experience in the field. After graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2002, Dr. Alcalde went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2006.
Throughout his career, Dr. Alcalde has demonstrated a deep commitment to providing exceptional eye care services to his patients. He has a particular interest in helping patients manage and treat conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. Dr. Alcalde is also skilled in fitting contact lenses and providing comprehensive eye exams.
In addition to his professional work, Dr. Alcalde is a devoted husband and father of two young boys. He enjoys staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, with interests in fitness and basketball. As a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, Dr. Alcalde is always eager to discuss the latest news and updates about his favorite team.

Dr. Lawrence Morris
Dr. Lawrence A. Morris is an optometrist with 40 years of experience in prescribing glasses and contact lenses, as well as disease detection, foreign body removal, and pre- and post-cataract and refractive surgery care.
Dr. Morris received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from California State University, Fullerton. After graduation he gained experience in the ophthalmic pharmaceutical industry as a quality control laboratory technician at Allergan Pharmaceuticals before entering the Southern California College of Optometry, where, inspired by his optometrist father, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Visual Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees.
Prior to joining Chino Optometry Center 35 years ago, Dr. Morris worked for world-renowned cataract surgeon Richard P. Kratz, MD, who was one of the pioneers of modern cataract surgery. There he gained valuable experience in the post-op management of cataract surgery patients.
His primary goal is providing his patients the clearest and sharpest vision possible and explaining eye conditions in a simple and understandable way.
